4 Year plan announced for Aime 2000

Ambitious new redevelopment with 5 star accommodation

An exciting new plan has been announced this week, which will see a complete transformation of Aime 2000 over the next four years.

The plans were initially brought to light in 2011 and a global competition to find the best developers and town planners for the resort was launched. In a press conference in Paris this week, the winners of that contest were announced as Pierre & Vacances and Wilmotte & Associes who have some ambitious ideas in the pipelines.

Over the next four years, three different development phases will take place the first of which will be a new 5 star Pierre & Vacances residence which will be ready for Christmas 2019. This Pierre & Vacances Premium complex will comprise of 120 apartments with a spa, fitness rooms, solarium and bar with a new, public central square.

The second phase will consist of a group of seven small wood and glass buildings each placed on a large stone base. Within these buildings will be 370 apartments of varying sizes branded under the Pierre & Vacances Famille category, a large public terrace and shopping centre. A new water park and leisure centre will also be built, which will form the centre of the overall development. This will have a large indoor/outdoor swimming pool, lazy river, a large outside terrace, a bowling alley, restaurant and bar.

The third phase will see a new 160 room hotel built "Hotel Aime Jaunes" which will have its own shops, a restaurant, relaxation area and gym, spa and swimming pool. The hotel will comprise of 4 separate buildings connected with internal links. The second and third phases of build are scheduled to be completed by Christmas 2020.

Project stats:

  • Pierre & Vacances have invested €220 million into the project, which will see a complete transformation of this part of La Plagne
  • In total there will be an additional 2,450 beds made available to visitors, spread over a site of 50,000 m2
  • The new waterpark will be 2,600 m2
  • 1,800 m2 of new shopping spaces will be created
  • 1,900 m2 of leisure space will be created
  • A new childcare area will also be built as well as an interactive art gallery
  • The roof tops of the new hotel will mirror the outline of the existing buildings in Aime 2000
  • 1,300 covered parking spaces and 100 exterior parking spaces will be made available
