Whether you prefer to soak up the last of the afternoon sun with a quiet beer or dance on the tables in your ski boots, La Plagne has no shortage of great spots where you can amuse yourself when the lifts shut for the day.

Apres-ski

La Mine Bar is situated in Plagne 1800. It has a large outdoor terrace, has free Wifi, DJ's and live music on a regular basis, live sport on the big screens, and not forgetting the unique decor where you might mistakenly think that Indiana Jones (in the Temple of Doom) might walk through the door at any moment! They're also open in summer. In winter they're open from 16:00 to 02:00.

The Spitting Feathers Bar is located next door to Ingrid Lafforgue Sports and is opposite the Mouflon Restaurant in Plagne Bellecôte. It is an English style pub with themed nights and is open everyday from midday. There are three Happy Hours at 17:00, 19:30 and 23:00hrs and almost all sports are shown including Premier League football. A FREE minibus service will pick you up and take you home to and from any of the high altitude resorts of La Plagne.

Scotty's Bar is a ski-in bar at the bottom of the Stade Olympic run in La Plagne Centre. They do snacks and food all day and have regular music and happy hours to draw in the crowds. The burgers are really good and they have a great platter for sharing with friends.

Monica’s Bar is a popular choice in Plagne Soleil. Open from 4pm until 2 in the morning, and with happy hour from 5pm til 6pm, there is plenty of time to enjoy the large choice of beers on offer. There is often live music on and around après ski time with a DJ taking over on a Tuesday or Wednesday night and the pub often shows live sporting events. Just note that it gets pretty busy for après!

Le Luna Bar is on Place de la Cheminée and up the stairs in Plagne Centre. Something different is always happening in the Luna, there are four rooms in the bar and they all have different themes. This bar is great for après or late night drinks but especially for après as the happy hour starts at 5pm and does not finish until 8pm – plenty of time to take advantage of the cheap drinks! There is an extensive menu with loads of shooters and some good whiskeys.

The Last One Pub in Les Coches is a lively choice for après ski drinks. There are often live bands and music from 5pm until 7pm and the place has a great atmosphere. Expect to pay around €2.70 for half a lager. You can even do a spot of shopping in the attached shop, Freeride Spirit, that sells the latest snowboarding and ski fashions. There is also a giant screen showing ski/snowboard DVDs or sports matches.

La Tête Inn in Belle Plagne boasts live music every day from 5pm until 7pm (often going on later into the night) during the winter season. It is a great building dating back to 1830 and inside the décor remains traditionally Alpine which is nice contrast the new, more modern bars popping up in La Plagne. There is a happy hour and the bar is open from 4pm – 2am.

Camp de Base Café is situated at the bottom of the Montchavin bubble in the village of Montchavin itself. This is a very small bar which is popular with the locals. Snacks are served all day as is the green Mont-Blanc beer which is made from the Génépi flower that grows high in the mountains – beware its pretty strong!

La Tourmente in Montalbert is a lovely quaint après ski bar to visit. There is a sunny terrasse where you can enjoy your après drinks or an aperitif, it serves food too. There is also a snooker table and TV for enjoying the sports.

La Terrasse - located in the Aime 2000 shopping mall. If you are not a huge fan of loud music and want sip your drink somewhere a little quieter, try La Terrasse for après ski. It is popular with the locals and is where you will find the Aime ESF instructors after a hard days work. There is a TV that plays (more French than English) football and you can count on the ambiance when football matches are being shown

Late nights

Le Cosy Club is open for apres ski from 5pm, with the club starting up at 10pm, it continues right on through to 6am during the winter season. It's located in the Galerie Commerciale in Plagne Bellecote, but  they also offer a free minibus collection/drop off service if you are staying in one of the other main Plagne villages.

Le Saloon in Belle Plagne is an American themed bar and club which hosts DJ's every night. Whilst it opens at 4pm, it doesn't really get going until much later, and as it doesn't close until 5am, you have plenty of time to get there! As with Cosy, they operate a minibus service to collect you and take you home.

Igloo Bar in Plagne Centre is open from 4pm to 3am everyday and hosts live bands and DJ's. Watch out for the dancing polar bear and penguins...
