La Plagne boasts refurbished 4-star hotel
Araucaria Hotel extensively renovated this winter
There are only a handful of four-star hotels in La Plagne and, amongst these, Araucaria has just become the creme de la creme. This is thanks to its recent revamp, which has turned it into a charming Alpine refuge with anything a family or a group of friends might want in resort... and more!
La Plagne is well-known for being a family-friendly resort. Up until now, many of those families usually chose to base themselves in one of the many apartments and chalets scattered around the resort's many small villages. However, a new wave has come and hotels in La Plagne are upping their game to attract a wide range of clients.
Ideally located in the heart of La Plagne, Araucaria Hotel has been completely redesigned by architect Leslie Gauthier who has worked in some of the most prestigious hotels in the Alps, as well as in Paris or Berlin.
Her project in La Plagne has definitely been planned keeping families with children in mind. Not only does Araucaria Hotel have a large games room with video games, table football and tennis, colourful tipis and lots more to keep the little ones entertained but the new spa incorporates a kid's pool where they can paddle accompanied by a monkey, a parrot and even a crocodile!
Some of the 84 rooms have also been designed particularly for families. Accommodating 1 to 5 people, there are large family rooms with bunk beds, as well as connecting rooms. They have all been decorated in calming tones and include high-speed WiFi, free films on demand and a kettle with tea and coffee.
Even the restaurant in the hotel sounds like fun. This large eatery serves a buffet breakfast with everything you might want to start your day with energy. However, it's their themed buffet dinners that are the talk of the town. You'll feel like you're eating in a different place every night, from a gourmet farmer's market to a pizzeria, including a salad bar, a Savoyard corner and tonnes of homemade desserts. There is also a bar offering signature cocktails to the sound of live music.
Situated right in the heart of Plagne Centre, a couple of minutes from the lifts and next door to ESF Ski School, Araucaria Hotel is perfect for a ski escapade. There is even a hire shop inside the hotel that offers the latest ski and snowboard gear. They also sell accessories and have a ski locker with boot dryer.
However, perhaps the most welcome addition is their new 450m2 Spa by NUXE. Complete with a large indoor pool, hammam, sauna, hydro massage, ice cave, sensation showers and relaxation areas, this is the new heart of the hotel. Their therapists are also available for massages, beauty treatments and more using NUXE products... the perfect way to finish a day in the mountains!
