What is going on in the Paradiski? It is the 9th of April and it is dumping like January out there. It's been coming down for two days in various temperatures and was a bit wet and melty yesterday but overnight it’s gotten it’s self together and now it’s coming down thick and fast in big soft flakes that have no place falling in spring. Get amongst it whilst it’s there because the forecast is calling for a change later in the week and really how many more spring powder days can you hope for?
Easter Treat: 28th March 2013

It’s been coming down constantly in La Plagne since the early hours, the clouds are low and the sky is white so visibility is not great today. The temperature is a bit too warm for the snow in Plagne centre and so what’s falling is heavy and wet but the higher you go the better it gets and it’s due to snow throughout the night so once the temperature drops later the snow quality should get better and we’ll have some fresh stuff for the morning. The weather forecast says 3cm today and 3 again tonight but there’s more than that out there already so fingers crossed for a big dump!
Holy Snowballs: 18th March 2013

Holy snowballs Batman! It is coming down and coming down hard out there. Its snowing all the way down to Bourg and although that’s making the roads a wee bit sketchy, for those of us who don’t have to drive anywhere it is looking good! At the last count 35cm had fallen at 2,000m and its still coming with more snow predicted all day and then sunshine tomorrow! Well isn’t that just the dream? The avalanche warning is currently at 3/5 (considerable) so please be safe off piste, but other than that why are you still reading this? The lifts are open, go go go!
Fluffy and Cold: 14th March 2013

The guys at the forecast are still getting it wrong but at least it’s working in our favour this time and we’re now getting all the snow they promised us last week. It has been dumping today, at least 6cm fell last night and has continued throughout today. The temperature has dropped so the snow’s settling well and is really light and fluffy rather than the wet heavy stuff we’ve been having of late. The forecast was for Baltic temperatures today and although its nowhere near as cold as the -16 we were predicted its cold enough that the snow is falling all the way down the mountain giving the lower runs the freshen up they definitely needed and turning the upper slopes into a powder playground.
Snow Up High : 11th March 2013

We woke this morning to snow on the trees and a dusting on the ground again. Up in Arc 1800 there was a good couple of centimetres but the clouds were surrounding the mountain and it was difficult to get a gist on what conditions might be like today. Now though the clouds are breaking and although it didn't snow right down to the valley, there has been snow down to 1,600m so it will definitely suit the slopes which do need a bit of a top up. Hopefully we are set to have a couple more of these overnight snow showers this week with temperatures dropping as the week goes on.
