Construction of the New Colosses Chairt Lift has Started
Work has started on the new 8 man chair which will ease congestion
As we reported back in February, there's going to be a new 8 man chair lift in Plagne Bellecote, which will replace the old 4 man chair lift, and massively ease congestion in this part of resort.
Work has already started and a 350 tonne crane has been brought in to lift the huge sections of the structure into place.
The new chair is not only going to be bigger, but also much faster, carrying people up the mountain at a rate of 6 metres per second. The lift station they're building is normally only seen for high flow-rate gondolas, so to have this kind of flow rate for a chair lift is pretty unique and possibly a first in France!
